Shipping Issues

I would like to know how some of you handle your shipping charges to the customer.

I am running into some issues with shipping “based on order total” where sometimes I over-charge and sometimes I under-charge (which looses me money). My inventory includes everything from cookbooks to refrigerators, so there is a lot of room for error.

One of the biggest problems I’m running into is I use over 100 suppliers to handle all the inventory on my site. All of these suppliers use different shipping methods to get the item to the customer (drop shipping). What would be the best way for me to accommodate such a vast array of shipping fees/methods.
