Is there a way to calculate shipping cost based on size and weight… With a product with variable options. We sell products that are lets say 12" x 12" and weight 5 lbs. Yet this same product can be configured as a 48" x 48" and 50lbs… As of now you can only set the default size with in the product and option variants can only change the weight… How can we do this? Is there an addon out there that does so…?? As of now we cannot calculate shipping correctly…

Yes and we are… Yet shipping is also calculated based on dimension. So shipping an extra large product ie. 48" x 48" adds to the shipping cost… We need to be able to add size also to the variant modifiers…
Why you cannot configure the product in such way?
Product weight: 5lbs
Option Size:
- 12" x 12" (Weight modifier: 0)
- 48" x 48" (Weight modifier: 45lbs)

When UPS and Fedex calculate shipping cost the weight is not the only thing they base off. Size it major factor also. Our other site sells metal art pieces that can be 12" x 12" and only weight 8lbs… Yet that same product can be configures via. options to be 48" x 48" and weight 50lbs… Sure we can adjust the option variables for weight but not shipping size. The shipping cost increases dramatically based on the dimensions of the package… Which as of now cannot be adjusted along with what options the customer chooses…

Thank you for the explanation. In this case, Alt-team was right. Additional code modifications are required to add size modifiers.
