Shipping address > states defaults to none after registration

On several occasions customer have reported once they have registered to make a purchase it reports cannot ship… please contact us… etc.

It seems on the shipping address the state defaults to none after registration. Checking the registration email all details and states are entered/selected correctly. Checking the customer records shows that the shipping state has not been selected or saved.



Manually selecting one from the backend and saving seems to change successfully but from what I’ve been told it defaults to none when they proceed to checkout.



This explains why so many customers are visiting and leaving.

Which version of 2.0 are you running?



Also, are you finding any underscores in your state fields like this __ ?



Reason i ask is that this was indeed an issue a release or two prior to 2.0.12. You may be able to search in the bugtracker & find some specific mention of this. :wink:

Thanks for the reply Struck. I’m running the latest version 2.0.12. I have also noticed another cusomter leave without placing an order due to the shipping address state selection box. Any ideas?

It WAS fixed in 2.0.12, but if you modified the code and/or upgraded then the file would not have been replaced by CS.



I suggest you reupload the changed file.

No files have been changed. CS cart was installed and a new database created.changelog.txt shows that I have the latest version installed 2.0.12.

Happened again today. Can’t be only me. Has some one expereinced this before? cusomters are just leaving.

still happening to date on the latest version 23/9/2010 and no one has found a fix???



I just end up editting the language text to include this:



Please make sure you have selected a State/Province/County.

You may also be required to update your account details if this is mssing.

If no shipping options are available for your location,

Please contact us and we will see about delivering to you.



CS Cart should prompt the cusomter to select the state and make sure it’s saved. How do i report this bug to them?
