Hello!!!
I am a bit a newbie in this domain so excuse my ignorance,is it possible to have several websites with the same domain name but they are .com, .cn, and .com.cn, and only one admin back-end?
Do I have also to purchase several licenses for each .com, .com.cn, and .cn? (i have one so far but I want to transfer my license to my new domain)
Thank you very much for your help,
Julie,
Where is your website address?

It is not possible to run multiple websites/stores from the admin backend, you would need an install for each store, which would have a seperate admin/database for each.

Yes you would need a licence for each.
You could have a licence for www.example.com, but have www.example.cn and www.example.com.cn redirecting to www.example.com store,
Here is the user licence https://www.cs-cart.com/license.html

What baballuci said answers your specific question.
Unless the website store is the same for every domain name
1 store = several domains.
If this is what you need you can simply set up the store on one of the domains and redirect the domain names to the one domain where your store is.
is it possible then to have a different looking landing page for each of these sites at your main store ?

The redirect could be set up one of two ways.
- at the domain registrar (i.e. GoDaddy) which automatically redirects the domain to the domain of your choice. I have 100’s that do this.
- setup a hosting account for each domain and redirect through a meta-tag refresh or javascript or .htaccess.
Now if you want to host landing pages you would need a “hosting account” for each domain so you could put a page on that domain.
Each of these pages could be setup to point to your main store domain when a visitor clicks through to purchase a product or want more information etc…
So let me explain further…
I have 4 domains.
-
mydomain1.com (landing page)
-
mydomain2.com (landing page)
-
mydomain3.com (landing page)
-
mydomain.com (Website Store)
The landing pages can all be different or the same. This works well when your advertising a partcular product and want to do some PPC or AdWords which point directly to an associated domain name.
Say you want to sell cookies and candies…you have domains named mycookies.com and mycandies.com, but your store is mywebstore.com…
Simply create a landing page on mycookies.com and mycandies.com promoting your cookies and candies, then when people click to buy it would redirect to mywebstore.com adding that particular product(s) to the cart.
Hope this is understandable…if not fire away with more questions.
Hi
Ye got that and the way it works. If you change the landing page is it possible to do the same with the actual store pages to follow on the theme using the same database or is that too complicated
Cheers
Wdec
Understand that the only connection to the database is through your store “mywebstore.com”…the landing page(s) on different domains would only link or redirect to your webstore.
You can make/design the landing page anyway you want as it would just be html/css…and yes you could make/design your store page look the same way.
That’s all just design work and really doesn’t have anything to do with the functionality or database of the actual webstore.
For an example (although these are on the same domain - they could be different):
www.nutracea.com/RBFree = landing page which adds item to the cart (Buy Now)
www.nutracea.com/RBO = landing page points to product detail page (Buy Now)
To address what I thnk your scenario is these could easily be:
www.ribalance.com = landing page which adds item to the cart (Buy Now)
www.pelotasricebranoil.com = landing page points to product detail page (Buy Now)
Hope this helps.
