"service Unavailable" In Neon Red

We have a recurring problem that has me worried. I suspect it is some kind of bug but also could be due to damage to or intrusion into our installation. I make the last statement out of an abundance of caution as I am not a programmer, but their does appear to be some kind of systematic problem which may or may not be the result of tampering. The problem is that our site often becomes unavailable and appears to have crashed. When this occurs any kind of access attempt results in a neon-red “Service Unavailable- try again later” banner. We have investigated and found that the sessions table often has crashed and the site can be brought back up after it is repaired. The crashed sessions table is one correlated error we know of but I can’t say for certain that this is the only one. Is this a known problem (we have 4.2.4) and if so how to address? Thanks for any insights.

Thanks for reply. We have and so far do not have a conclusive answer. Possibly it's a memory issue (we have 4GB). Apparently our site is doing this a lot more often than most other sites that experience it.

hi,

you may contact cs-cart support about the issue.

alternatively, our specialists can check it for you so please don't hesitate to contact us.

A corrupted sessions table is usually the result of mysqld crashing or terminating while updating table data. This can be caused by too little memory or some other server related issue. In theory, it should NOT be possible for an application to corrupt a database table.

In my experience, too little memory configured on the server for the load being placed upon it is the most frequent cause of table corruption.
