Service Based Store? Any Advice?

Hi does anyone use CS-Cart to offer services?

I am a freelance graphic/web designer who is thinking of using CS-Cart to allow myself and/or clients to configure their design needs. Much like one would customize many components in a new computer system they would select a service (ie. I need a website). From there the product screen would allow them to configure all the facets for their design needs(Look and feel, number of pages, CMS setup, hosting etc…).

Would be great to see your website example(s) for service configuration?

Does using CS-cart help administer your service based business (accounting, client login, quoting, billing etc…)?

Thanks. Would love to hear any additional feedback.

I think it would take some modifications. Check out snorocket.com. There is an addon in development there that may interest you… the quote/invoice manager:

Doesn’t the current CS cart configurator accomplish what you need?

We have a business that is mostly service but we typically email to finalize the details.

The personal touch will never be replaced by automation but we are also interested in trying at least for repeat orders.

Thanks will look into this.

i tried that but whcms was easier to configure for the service business cscart is a great commerce cart but for services its tricky because it generates an order even if payment fails which for a service biz is just a huge headache.
