SEO friendly URLs for feature filters

Hi,

I intend to use the feature filters to give users more ways to navigate (or filter) products in the catalog.

The resulting URL looks like:

http://cscart.dev/electronics/?features_hash=V55.V49&subcats=Y

Is there a way to make this clean / seo friendly so it it looks like:

http://cscart.dev/electronics/windows-7/windows-8/pc

Something like this?

Thanks!

Unfortunately there is no SEO add on for this. I really would like to have one, though.

And another thing is that filters will not be saved once you click to a product page. If you then use your 'back' button, all set filters are gone and you have to start all over. That is something that will drive my customers away, I am sure.

If you make your features “extended” you can make them SEO friendly.

Thanks,

Brandon

In 3.0.4, I have got a Product Feature called 'Manufacturers', with applicable brands like so: Brand A, Brand B, Brand C

The Product Filters display on the Categories pages as specified on the Categories Blocks page. However, the URL's are like so:

mysite,co.uk/brand-a/?subcats=Y&features_hash=V4777

mysite,co.uk/brand-b/?subcats=Y&features_hash=V4796

mysite,co.uk/brand-c/?subcats=Y&features_hash=V4811

But on a 2.2.5 site, with the exact same product features and filters setup - extended features type - the URL's are like so:

mysite.co.uk/brand-a/

mysite.co.uk/brand-b/

mysite.co.uk/brand-c/

No matter what settings I change, I can't get the clean product filter URL's as in 2.2.5.

Have you tried in v3?

Huh, actually that is kind of interesting. If you look at my homepage at http://www.saltwatertogo.com/ you'll see my brand dropdown. If you click on one of those, they are SEO friendly.

If you go to one of my category pages and click on the brand, they are no longer SEO friendly.

Kind of weird and I don't know how to change that.

Thanks,

Brandon

Yep that's what I get too on 3.0.4. SEO friendly on the homepage, dynamic URL on every other page. Why, oh why. Didn't do this on 2.2.5, which produces the same lovely looking URL regardless which page you are on.

How come on your home page, the only filter (narrow down by option) is brand? What about price and the option filters?

Maybe we're mixing apples and oranges, and the drop down on the home page is not the same feature as the drop down in the catalog views?

Because that is what I chose to have on there. It is the same feature/filter set - kind of. Basically instead of having it as a dynamic filter set like what is on my category page, it is just a single filter.

Maybe the dynamic filter is what is causing the SEO name thing, I'm not sure. I guess a guy could test this by doing multiple single filters in one block group. I'm not sure how this would work, but it could be worth a try.
