SEO fails to run

Hi,

I have recently upgraded to v 2.0.4.

I have adjusted the .htaccess file to the correct rewritebase to /store/ as per my domain of domain.com/store. I attempt to active the SEo module and it says “SEO URLs can’t work for now - they were disabled. Please check your Apache and mod_rewrite settings.”

I have confirmed the rewite_mod is install, as it works fine on the old 1.3.5.sp4 install. Nothing has changed on the server and 1.3.5sp4 contiunes to work fine in rewriting the url’s.

Can anyone tell what I am missing or is there a bug I am unaware of ?

If there is any advise anyone can give I would most grateful.

I failed to notice the following error at the top of the page.

Warning: file_put_contents(/home/designer/public_html/store/var/cache/cache_update_handlers.php) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/designer/public_html/store/core/class.registry.php on line 165

Any ideas anyone?

I am also having this problem but without the script error?

1.3.5 works fine but on the 2.0.4 store on the same server I can’t activate the mod?

Make sure the permissions on folder ‘/var/cache’ is CHMOD 777 and files CHMOD 644.

Yes I have those settings and it still refuses to work.

I have reinstalled the whole thing in another dir and it still fails.

Permissions are correct. I’ve even tried activating the addon in the database but it still doesn’t work?

I could not enable SEO addon when I was running 2.04 on PC (windows)

I am running this on Linux CentOS box and editing from a Windows Browser - Firefox.

I have managed to rid myself of the error now.

Still I can not see why the module with activate.

Please does anyone have any idea why this is not working?
