In theory, the Searchanise shouldn't influence on page load speed as its scripts are loaded asynchronously. In fact, many CS-Cart users are looking for the alternative solution as they are convinced that Searchanise makes the website slower.
Being aware of this problem, our developer created "Quick search" module for Cs-Cart 4.x.x. It allows customers to type just a few characters and see the relevant search results immediately in a drop-down list. Also, this module includes a possibility to search by a product code. Good website speed was in priority during the add-on development.

Searchanise just adds JS file to your storefront, and it doesn't slow down your store. Product indexation is processing on our servers, so you don't feel it.
Our addon was made by CS-Cart creators team, and it works perfectly in CS-Cart.
Maybe, your problem is caused by conflicts with other addons. Please, describe your problem to our support team via email feedback@searchanise.com
Here's are store results from Pingdom, we use Searchanise. We used a few before settling with this one, definitely the best we have used.
