search by Vehicle type

Hello All,

I am running version 1.3.5 SP 4 and I have a slight problem

Most of my customers are asking to search by Vehicle type. I currently have categories where they can select their motorcycle but want to be able to deep searching inside of that category.

etc. first then will select kawasaki - > then that will drop to → zx6r - > then 2009 and then they can deep search products for that year mufflers, windscreens , etc.

how can i do that? I have 5000 products listed now and I want the easiest way!

Could you please explain in a little more detail? Because I’m sorta in the same boat. However, how I listed my products I don’t think their is a “easy way” ;however, I may be over looking something.

I think basically filter solves giftedwon’s problem. Just order the filters order to the needs from top to down. This makes more sense right?

Well, while Joe’s solution is the best bet for you, I’m going to guess that there is an “easy way” to do this. I am pretty sure that since the filters work off of filtering features you would need to choose what features you want and then apply them to your products. If you only have 5 products this is easy, but if you have 1000 products than this is going to be a lot more work.

Maybe someone else has a better idea?

That’s real nice!

I’d like to attempt that in the future.

Look at this thread. I did something similar. Check out post #4 for an example. It works really great.
