Review of securecarthost.com

In the past few weeks we have switched a couple of our sites over to securecarthost.com so far we have been more than pleased. Not only did Scott make the move very easy, but one of our sites runs much smoother than our old host. The second, playing card website is running about the same speed as it did on a VPS. Probably the best part is the fact that we have been trying to get our old host to get their server PCI Compliant for a few weeks now. Once we switched over to securecarthost.com we ran the scan and we were compliant!

We would recommend securecarthost.com for great hosting and for a host that is knowledgeable about CS-Cart.

After just a couple of short months we would like to withdraw our recommendation of SecureCartHost (or CyberLNC).

Here are the reasons:

  1. Their shared hosting package is very slow and appears to be nothing more than a VPS that they have purchased and put several CS carts on.
  2. They have a very strange attitude when you question them or make suggestions. They are easily offended.
  3. In the first 30 days they respond very quickly. After that they take longer to respond and then tell you that maybe “we should part ways”. It has now been over 48 hours since I put a ticket in and they still have not responded.

    The following is my opinion:

What SecureCartHost (or the old CyberLNC) appears to be is nothing more than a group of the people who partially “control” this forum and spend a lot of time spamming the forum to try to get people to host with them. While SecureCartHost is not an official sponsor for hosting, they do get to put their plugs here and pull those that disagree with them or dislike their service or the service of the old CyberLNC.

We would STRONGLY recommend that if you are serious about your e-commerce website then you really need to get at a minimum a VPS. A good place to start looking is…

    https://www.cs-cart.com/hosting.html

While we did not use any of the ones listed there, we did find a host that offered a VPS and has done a very good job so far. I’m sure their site and their service (or attitude) will be better than SecureCartHost. Quite honestly, I have never had a host respond the way that SecureCartHost has.

Martfox customers are sometimes unsatisfied with respose times over 30 minutes… Anyway Martfox is a great web hosting company. Not “the best” and not “the biggest”, but we do “the best” for our customers.

Well, SCH has succeeded in closing our “help” account, which is the area where the “help tickets” are, but we still have not heard anything about a refund for the remainder of the time. They did still leave the cPanel there even though we have deleted all files from it and requested it to be close. There was never a reply in regards to the request to cancel and refund. There has been no correspondence from them at all.

So hopefully anyone coming along who is thinking about using SecureCartHost, CyberLNC, or whatever their name may be this week, please be VERY CAREFUL! They will take your money, be nice to you for a month and then when you question the speed of their “server” after the first 30 days they will tell you that you have offended them and they will threaten that “maybe it is better to part ways”. Of course they want to “part ways” then because they took your money and they think they can run away with your money. I am guessing they thought I should have stayed on their server when it was not only slow, but I feared they would shut it down as they did the help ticket area.

If you are still hosting with SCH, then you should think twice about it and probably move to a real host.

Good news, SCH has turned the help ticket area back on, but there still is no response from them on either ticket. One of the tickets were already closed.

Horror!

I know that no one other than Noman cares  , but after 8 days of waiting, David from SCH finally replied to the last help ticket that was placed on November 9th.

In regards to the other ticket about their slow servers, they have never replied and they still have the ticket closed.

David did admit that the “ticket got sweep under the rug somehow” and he did apologize for the delay and the bad experience.

Even though Scott from SCH said that we should “part ways” and ended the hosting relationship, they do not plan on refunding the balance of the year that I paid in advance. Now that is service at it’s best! They tell you to get lost and then they don’t give back the money you invested in their service…that they ended up never providing.

Please do not make the same error I did. Make sure you choose a real host, that has real servers and not just a reseller with servers that has too many sites on them. Not to mention I have never seen the poor type of service from a host that SCH has provided.

The biggest thing I learned is do NOT pay for a year in advance with host like SCH. You really never know when a host like this is going to provide poor service or even worse, they tell you to get lost. Just as SCH did, they will take care of you for the first 30 days and then sorry about your luck after that.

Here is a perfect example of the type of policy a REAL hosting company should have, at least if they really believed in service:
“Hosting Company” proudly offers to its subscribers an “Any-Time Money Back Guarantee”. This guarantee allows the subscriber to use “Hosting Company”'s services with full confidence and zero-risk. * Consequently, subscriber may request a full refund of any remaining WHOLE un-used month(s) pre-paid fees, excluding any add-ons, less any term discounts, less any free service term, additional over-usage, and/or free domain registration(s) - (costs of free domain registrations are calculated at the regular price of the domain registrations and deducted from refund amount). Terminated accounts are not eligible for this guarantee if the termination occurred due to a violation of the ToS.

This “Any-Time Money Back Guarantee” can be requested at anytime that you are not satisfied with or just wish to end your “Hosting Company” service(s). A request for this guarantee must be submitted via a ticket at:.“HTML”… If requesting a refund, we ask that subscriber briefly explain the reason(s) for cancellation, as well as, any suggestions on how “Hosting Company” could improve our services.
A policy like the above covers the host, but does not wrongly take advantage of client.

Good luck with getting your refund.

Yeah, no luck on getting a refund. I did finally get a reply from David L Litz back on the 17th of November and I replied to him within minutes. Now it has been almost 3 weeks and I still have not heard back from him. Go figure.

Without a doubt, it would be a huge mistake to host with securecarthost (or CyberLNC). I know there are many other stories out there and many on this forum who have switched away from these guys, but most are afraid to post anything. The thing I want to do is make sure new people who come along or those who want to change do not make the same mistake that I did. There are many other good host out there, but in my worthless opinion, securecarthost (or CyberLNC) hosting company is just not one of them.

So again, when you look for a hosting company, you must also make sure they have a fair “return” policy if you want to pay a year at a time. I can understand them not refunding that current month, but for them to claim the whole year is just wrong and according to my attorney, illegal. You should really make sure they are not just a reseller like securecarthost (or CyberLNC) is. All they do is buy a resale package out there and then put several shopping carts on the same server (or VPS). Then when the server slows down they shrug their shoulder and say there is no problem.

Did you try to call them on 330 790-1070?

Never had any problem with SecureCart. Nothing but the best of service and very quick speeds from our end.
