is there a way we can remove the Price in points (price_in_points) field from the product pages?

If you aren't showing the points to your customer, what is the point of having them? Why not just disable or uninstall the addon?
If you really need to just remove the points from the product page, try to remove or rename, skins/your-skin/customer/addons/reward_points/hooks/options_advanced.post.tpl ?
You might also have to do remove options_modifiers.post.tpl too, I'm not sure.
