I wanted to know if anyone had any luck removing the 960 grid from v3? I know for alot of people that it helps alot in most cases I would agree but for me doing a very customized site (responsive) it only gets in my way. Any help appreciated.

Why remove the grid and remove all the functionality of custom blocks, etc? Why not just work within a grid? You can do whatever you want inside a custom block. Note that almost everything in V3 is based on blocks so if you remove the grid system, you can no longer apply those blocks because there will no longer be any main content, footer, header, etc. areas…
