Quantity Discount On Chosen Products

Hi,
for some time now I can't find a way to do a quantity discount on several products, not just within one product.

i have a categories with similar kind of products, and i want to allow clients to pick up 2, 3, 4 similar products and get quantity discount.

i know there is a quantity discount for each product, but this is not the same.

I've also tried to use promotions to apply a discount, but it doesn't work correctly: it counts all the products in the cart, not just the quantity of products i want to give the quantity discount to.

any help would be appreciated

Pay attention if the ready-to-use modules are working correctly with variations or options, in case the products you want to be with discount have it.
