Promotional Gift Certificates?

Is there any way of creating a gift certificate that is not specific to one person but a type of promo code that the potential buy must enter to get a discount?



So for example I put up an ad saying that you get 10% when using this promo code on product x… then many people who have seen my promo code in the advert visit my sites and enter the promo code and buy to get the discount?



This type of discount code should also have a start and end date… or until stock finishes… or for a certain amount of stock
