Product Configurator / Quickbooks

Good Morning

I’ve been searching the forums and reading the “instructions” for the product configurator for a couple of weeks now trying to complete a store that I should have already had done - but have been unable to do what I thought it was going to be able to do when we started on this.

I have a client who has been patiently waiting but I really need to get this would up - that being said - if someone has done this, please get in touch with me. Both Jeff and I are meeting deadlines right now and unfortunately fighting the theft of one of our client’s copyrighted materials and are compiling server and data log files for their lawsuit.

  1. Need to set up product that has multiple choice options (I’ve done this with the global options, but it won’t do what I need with quickbooks)
  2. I need to be able to export the configurable options to quickbooks for inventory tracking for the product manufacturer – i.e. as it stands, the quickbook export will export things as I have them created with the “product” - but not individually for the options/add ons for the product.
  3. Anyone who has actually gotten the quickbooks option to work - or has tried the other third party sources for enhancing the quickbooks export feature (we just do not have time to develop it ourselves)

Thank you in advance for any responses…

Just so I understand this… as Quickbooks Export is important to us as well…

You are trying to create a product with options and you want to track the inventory on a per option basis.

You tried using product option modifier, enabling ‘track with options’ - but this only allows you to set up one SKU per arrangement of options, not log each separate option as it’s own SKU in the transaction.

You tried using configurable products to create an assembly, but when the configurable product is exported from quickbooks it uses the SKU of the configurable product and not the selected sub-products?

I agree that even when products are added to the cart as part of a configurable product, they need to be listed as individual SKUs on the invoice and should be exported as such.

I will dig into the code a bit and see what I can find. If another developer can confirm this behavior, I’d appreciate it.

Were you able to figure anything out on this topic? We are just getting started with CS cart and this seems to be a sticking point. If you have any insight I would be interested in talking to you about it.

Thanks.

Why don’t you avoid using the product options and just use parent product and product groups made of hidden product items representing the group product items with sku. Alternatively vote for product configurator further development
