Product Code Search

I have v3x cart where the product code is searchable by default from the front end and admin - i dont recall if there was a mod to do this automatically, but i just upgraded the store to 4.1.3 and when i search in front end for the product code doesnt find anything, same with admin, i have to specifically say from advanced search (front or admin) search in the product code field.



how can i get it to search this field by default?
