Hello,
What is this “Price in points”?
is it mean that every time customer buy something he/she get some points? if yes - what he/she can do with that?
You can read about the rewards points in the Knowledge Base. If you enable the Rewards Points add on, the customer earns points for each purchase, which they can then put towards further purchases from your store.

Thanks for the reply
You meant that customers can collect points after every purchase and after they have enough they can purchase items with them without pay money?
If the thing that I wrote above is correct, Is it possible to define particular items that can be purchase with points?

You enable a product to be paid for with points on the “Reward points” tab in products manager. Check the box for “Allow payment by points” for those items you want available.
You can also set a different price in points than the global points exchange ratio.

Hello BOB,
I tryed to do what you said with a product, but I haven’t found yet WHERE is the box “Allow payment by points”. So, or I am doing something wrong or it is not in PRODUCTS tab that I need to do it.
For example, I need to click:
ADMINISTRATION (tab) > Addon > Reward points to find something about points that clients will receive when they buy from our company.
The configuration I haven’t undestood yet.
If the person buy $ 1.00 so he will earn 1 point?
And the MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION: 1 point will value how much __$ when he want to buy a product using his credit?
In my case, I want the person earn 1 point for each $1,00 spent.
For example, when he buys 1000 points he will have $30 (3%) to buy anything he wants, but the final cost will need to be, at least $90,00 (3 times the points value).
How CAN I CONFIGURATE IT IN THIS NEW VERSION (2.0.5) ?
In attachment I am sending 2 images to explain better what I am talking about, specially about products.
You need to make sure the reward points add-on is “active” in the Add-ons module. The you will see an additional tab in the products called “Reward points”.
You set up the standard PER (points exchange rate) in the options sheet available at the "edit link in the add-ons. You can override this rate and set your price in points on the reward points tab in products.

Hello Bob, thanks for your help.
You are right about to turn on addon. It was off. In attachment the image.
I will try about PER configuration.
Thanks!
in the “Addon”–> Reward points" - “Points Exchange Rate” if I’ll put 100 is that mean that 1 Dollar will be equal 100 points?
and what is “Log line per page”?

This is correct: if the PER is 100, a item that cost $1 will have a price in points of 100 points.
I think the points accrued is fixed at 5% of the price unless it is overridden in the category or product reward points. I have not found a way to change the global rate for points to be accrued. Maybe someone else has more information on this.
I think “Log line per page” is the number of items that appears when reviewing the reward points from Users detail page in Admin or the “My points” link in the front-end.

Hi Bob,
Please try to explain to me - If item cost 50$ of 100 points, is that mean that if he/she buy this item he/she will get 100 points for it?
If yes than he/she will pay 100 points and also get 100 points and no progress will be for the admin…
About the log - where in the admin panel I can reviewing the points from users that you talked about?

No. Unless overridden in the category or product, the customer will get 5% of the price in points - so 3 points earned by the customer.
You should try playing with it to see how it works.
Bob
In order to play with it I actually have to buy and pay for my products, and pay fees for paypal…
So what you are saying is that customer will pay 100 points but will get back 5%, in points, from the value of the item?
And by the way - In which part of the purchase process customers can mark that they wnat to use their point to pay?

The points are applied at checkout time to the cart, not to specific products.

From my testing, what i recall is that points were issued at 5% of the product price unless overridden by the reward points setting in either the category or product.
You need to set up a test installation so that you can test things out. I now understand why you have so many repeated questions: you can’t test things out on your own even after getting advice here from others.
To be frank, if you cannot be bothered to set up a test installation and try things out for yourself (like the rest of us do), then I am not sure other members should spend their valuable time providing you with one-on-one tutelage.

Bob is correct - a test installation is the way to go. Or set up a test customer. You don’t have to check out using Paypal. Choose some other method of payment, such as cheque and then you can mark the order as processed in the back end.
There is also a really good Knowledge Base on the CS-Cart website that has the answers to most of your questions, as well as a manual you can download which tells you everything you need to know.
not the manual and not the Knowledge Base explain thing like you guys do. your explanation with examples help me to understand better the features.
I do have tests system. Even two - one to each version. But what can I do that Cs-Cart explanation aren’t clear enough…
Ladies and gentlemen,
In my case I don’t want that the client receive 5% of what he bought in money, but 3%. For example:
He bought a product that cost $100.00 so he will receive 100 points that will value not 5$ but $3.00. Where can I change it? I think there is a file where you can change 5% to 3%. Is that right?
Thanks!

If you have a test system, you could have easily taken the information provided and tested it out. Instead, you ask question after question without attempting to use the information provided.
I am all for helping each other out here but, in the end, you must take some initiative yourself. We all have our own businesses to run and our time is just as valuable to us as yours is to you.

You are misunderstanding this a bit.
The customer is awarded points at the 5% rate. So, in the example you cited, if the product cost $100, the customer receives 5 points.
You still set the PER as you wish. Let’s say your PER is 100 so a product that costs $5 will cost 500 points. Based on the previous transaction, the customer can apply his 5 points (which amount to 5 cents at the PER of 100) and then his balance would be $4.95.
You set the PER globally but can override is at both the catalog or product level so you have quite a bit of flexibility in terms of the reward value.
Bob
In Catalog > Reward Points > Points earned per product > Not a member.
We can set a value for the Amount, can be an absolute value or a percentage. Is this the place where we change the 5% you mentioned above? Let’s say we changed this to 10%, then a customer who purchased a $100 product will get 10 points. Right?
Thank you.
