POS. Point of Sale interface

Hi, did anything ever get solved with this? my wife is setting up a new business that will need a POS system so will be very pleased to hear is this is solved.

@xelion I see that you was close, has this progressed any further?

regards,

Tony

At this moment we're developing an addon for Openerp 7 with POS.

the current stage of the project is: we're testing the addon at this moment.

probably it will be available as a subscription with a payment per year.

it will have some really nice features, better the the standard sync systems like Magento uses.

database will be updated almost reatime, a customer program is available with customer service cards, etc…

and Openerp got it's own POS hardware with a tablet as screen. A really nice solution for OpenERP POS with CS-Cart.

thanks

Jorden

Thanks for the information Jorden, this sound great.

Is there a way to update an Amazon store with stock levels, so as an item comes off cs cart it will be removed from amazon and visa versa.

Kind regards,

Tony

No it is not connected to amazon, but I thought there was an addon for Amazon and cs cart

Neither of these seem to include Amazon, they mention Amazon but typically CS-Cart have looked into and have added an eBay addon but have completely ignored that fact that there are people needing an Amazon add on.

Kind regards,

Tony

We've connected CS Cart to standard barcode readers to allow in-store staff to scan an order, have it add to the admin-facing “add order” function, then the AJAX calls go back to a waiting status to wait for the next item to be scanned or for the staff member to checkout.

Then you bypass needing additional customer information, or if you do a look up and they already are an online customer, you select to auto-fill.

The above works fairly well for processing a synced inventory of online + offline location(s).

We're working on adding a credit card swiper to autofill payment, though the information on a typical card is not necessarily standardized exactly (some have full name, some do not)… so all of this is to be thought of as an “aide” to staff taking phone or in-person orders, not an end-to-end automated POS.

Are there still no POS addons available for CS-cart?

We developed one on our own. We have about $10k into it and still not done. The lack of an API in 3.x made it a big challenge and now we are stuck in 3.x as a result. We are also struggling with changes in browser security (chrome/java) as it needs to directly access to the local receipt printer. We also have concerns long term about EMV for new credit cards. Definitely not a project for the faint of heart or those with a low budget.

Ed,

Can I ask how you guys handle Product Options/Combinations in linking with your POS? How did you link it and which information are you able to exchange (pricing, inventory, …)?

The reason I ask is that we are struggling with such links from CSC to third party systems given the complex data structure of Product Options/Combinations inside CSC

Thanks in advance

Olof

Have tried Vend but couldn't get all the features that I wanted for a POS software so I kept searching and found this: https://ready2order.com/de/
Not sure if they support cs.cart though.

Hi Olof, we use a very limited number of options and no combinations. Similar products are listed as separate products instead as options and combinations. Options, like many other facets are complicated in CS Cart because of how they generate them and store in the database. The other thing we did is to use only global options. Most of our options are really empty fields which we use to push information up into CS cart from the POS such as serial number, line item specific notes.

Hi Friends,

We have developed POS for various platforms like Opencart, Joomla, Odoo etc. Please have a look at one of our POS module - https://store.webkul.com/Opencart-Point-Of-Sale-System.html We have scheduled the similar one for CS-Cart. We will soon launch the one for CS-Cart.

Further suggestions will be highly appreciated. Stay Tuned!

Thank You!

Hello, Friends!

We are glad to launch the POS system for your CS-Cart/Multivendor Store. Here is the reference link for more details - https://store.webkul.com/CS-Cart-Point-Of-Sale-System-POS.html

Just have a look & share your valuable views.

Thank You!

Currently using Webkul's POS for CS cart, it's a minimalistic system wich i have to say works fine.
It lacks some needed options, no RETURNS or a price display. There is only a product grid, no category grid.

Hello,

You can check here for POS and let us know your requirement. Please share your ideas at https://webkul.uvdesk.com/en/

Thanks

Hi,
Already shared my ideas, but you want me to pay for them ;)

Some basics that should be in every POS system

1) Option to view categories instead of ALL products
2) Discount per product. Currenly it's only available to give a total discount. In a clothing store we have multiple sorts of discounts. 10% on sale, 20% on X-Brand.
3) Search should be a big button, hard to select it now with for example ipads
4) A virtual keyboard should be implemented -> https://mottie.github.io/Keyboard/a
5) a customer screen should be added
6) Not sure how to call it, but should be able to add the cash the registere starts with. All the change and a report should be able to be printed so they can count the register
7) PRODUCT RETURNS!? MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE..

Just some ideas that should be on any pos system.

if you want an example for a very good pos -> https://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-point-of-sale-pos/7869665?gclid=Cj0KCQjwpsLkBRDpARIsAKoYI8wrkkMTGEKnP8_-pRLrKBpoMuo-T_cCzXnywSG0yMfihipZxtsyO7EaAr2lEALw_wcB

It's for wordpress, but that one is well thought off and has all the functions and more.

Hello,
