PayPal sent me an email…
Following DigiCert’s direction PayPal will start using Certificates issued from DigiCert Global Root G2 Chain. We are requesting you to add DigiCert Global Root G2 to truststores that are used to connect to with PayPal. PayPal will begin to use certificates with the Root G2 Chain from October 2024.
My web host says it’s up to the developers of the CS-Cart PayPal add on.
Does anyone have any advice about this ?
I may be wrong but it sounds like the brand of SSL cert you use for your store.?
Its a bit ambiguous but I think it means your certs will be fine till they run out, then when you renew they will be the new version
EDIT:: DigiCert root and intermediate CA certificate updates 2023
You know much more than I do about these things but anther puzzle is why my web host ( who supplied my current SSL certificate ) doesn’t know anything.
I hope you are correct. I do wish PayPal could learn to communicate with non-developers.
Hi!
If possible, please include the full message you received from PayPal here.

It looks like you will need to make a note for the PayPal payment, that it won’t be compatible with the outdated OS, like Windows 7 or older. And, probably, you may need to ask your server administrators to add DigiCert root certificate to your server, in order for the PayPal payments to continue to work.
