Order Declined But Coming Through Approved And Getting Paid

I just had the guys at simtechdev upgrade my store since I had lots of custom mods that needed to be updated…I was coming over from 2.1 to the new version.



But when I have done some test transactions it is telling me, as the customer, that “Your order has been declined by the payment processor. Please review your information and contact store administration.” But I am getting a receipt emailed to me saying it was approved. I am also checking with my processor and the order is going through as approved. Any idea on what is causing this?



Also on a somewhat related note, I got the following message: “The transaction was refused as a result of a duplicate invoice ID supplied. Attempt with a new invoice ID.” How is my customer supposed to get a new invoice ID? This is rather confusing. I suppose if the transaction goes through this is a safety measure to prevent duplicate orders but with the problem I am having above I am guessing all customers are seeing this.

Why you did not contact Simtechdev team and ask them to check these issues?



As for duplicate invoice ID, in such cases we add timestamp suffix to the order id for each attempt to pay the order. So each transaction will be recognized by the payment gateway as separate payment.

I did contact them but considering they are on the opposite time schedule as me/U.S. I had to deal with this for a whole day during peak U.S. sales times. Was hoping that someone on here may know an easy fix so I didn't miss out on a entire days worth of orders. They ended up fixing it last night so all is good now. But yesterday I had to put a banner on checkout pages explaining that the order may show as failed but don't place a duplicate order. It was unprofessional but better than dealing with customers that were charged 2-3 times and it saying it was failing.
