Only for wholesale customers...

Hi,



I’ve installed cscart 2.0 and that’s working great. I want to serve both retail and wholesale customers. I have few products available only to wholesale customers. I mean they are viewable when wholesale customers logs in. Retail customers shouldn’t get to see them.



While adding the new product, I haven’t got any option to display only to Wholesalers. Any advice guys???

Memberships are only to category level not product level. This was the same in 1.3.5. They should have extended it functionality to include products, and have the ability to select more than one membership at a time.

Can’t you create a Membership and assign wholesale prices to that Membership and then show products ONLY to that membership?

No, I think we did not have that option.

Why don’t you just create a category that is set to “Wholesale” membership only.



Then add products that you want to the wholesale category.

That is not a bad idea, but there is a problem. For example, I have a category called ‘Books’. The products in this category are viewable to all weather they are logged in or not.



Now, I have to offer the same products to my wholesalers. So, I will create another category, but being the unique name, it won’t allow me to add the same name again. So, I have created ‘Books 2’ category. In that case, when the wholesaler logs in, then he has to view two categories ‘Books’ and ‘Books 2’. That is again confusing. Is it not?

Why don’t you create a category called “Wholesale”. Then create a subcategory “Books” with “Wholesale” as the root directory?



Not confusing at all.

Ok, I have created a separate Wholesale Category. Thanks for your help.
