Hi, Im migrating from Zen Cart to Cs Cart (yay) and Im trying to understand CS-Carts methodology for creating tax and shipping zones.
Is the best thing to create a localization and then assign the relevant taxes, shipping methods, currencies etc to it?
I have to create GST for Australia, plus have multiple shipping options too - many set by postcode ranges. In this case, would I need to create my shipping locations and then assign each shipping method to the relevant location?
The reason i ask is that in Zen Cart, you could 'stack' zones; e.g; Auspost shipping for all of Australia and then another zone called 'DHL' that ships to NSW, Vic, and QLD.
Reading other parts of this forum leads me to believe that you cant have locations overlap, is that correct?
If anyone has any pointers on the best overall approach to creating multiple shipping zones, plus the tax rate Id be very appreciative.
Thanks,
Scott.
Hello Scott,
In this case you need to set up necessary locations and then specify these locations for shipping methods and taxes. In order to learn more information about how to set up locations, please refer to these articles in our Knowledge Base: CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation
CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation
After that you need to set up taxes: CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation and shipping methods according to your locations: CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation
