We just updated to sp4 and installed a new skin designed for us by cscartskins.com. We are still working on changing the internal content, but the basic back drop and layout is there.

The skin is unique. I like it. Loaded pretty quickly for me (6meg cable connection)
Nice looking site! 
The way the A and K cards used in the background is very neat. Also love how the deck of cards is used in the cart status.
To be honest, the overall looking is not so nice… Partial design is great!
Yeah I had fun with this skin and Clips was great to work.
I love this site now and it screams “cards” now. 
On of the biggest issues before beginning development was load time but we got that nailed down and it the content just pours onto the page.
I like the site, it looks real good. I did notice one small mistake though. In your world of cards page the first line is messed up:

Can’t say I like it. I don’t like skins that come with original product_details.tpl products_advanced.tpl and products.tpl with no changes. Even categories.tpl is same. Why keeping category “no image available” when image is not available?
Not sure if green black red combination is good. Personal opinion it is not complete skin and needs some additional work. Only thing I like about site is top left part.
Also it is very slow.

On the speed side, our server was having issues yesterday and today. Those issues should be resolved and speed is better again. Our host had to set up a new fire wall because of some attacks on the server.
–Why Black and red? Well, since we sell playing cards and the primary colors on playing cards is black and red, this is why we went with the colors. I hope this makes sense. Not exactly my favorite color, but fitting for the product we sell.
On all the “tpl” updates, there is still a long way to go on other sections and areas of the site. I’m not so sure I’m going to go whacko on wanting to change every tpl just because it is original. That really was not my goal. I really do not see a need to change every tpl either.
We do still have a long way to go and the site will never be “done.” I have always laughed when people would put “under construction” on their website. I don’t know about you, but any active site I have had has always been “under construction.”
So where and what is your website? I would love to see what changes you have made, not to mention all of the changes you have made to the tpl, etc. Maybe I can get some ideas.

…so what are the changes in the tpls you are speaking of? I’ve surfed around and see very little changes in the specifics. I do notice some, but I must be missing the major. The only major change I notice is you took away the left column.
BTW, I do like your site! Not to mention your product is pretty cool too! It makes me think of Jurasic Park.
I do like the menu going across the top too.
So what changes to the tpl’s do you suggest I make?

Can you give any more info on why the new skin is not nice? Your reply is vague and not real helpful.
