New Fraud

Thought I will share this with you.

1. Received 2 orders from 2 different customers from different states in US, however sharing same IP address.

2. In some hours both ask to give full refund.

3. After refund is done chargeback is opened, however fir of these claims were closed by paypal without deducting more money from my account..

I have asked customer for reason for refund, reply was poor English and view source emails senders origin was Ukraine.

Not sure how this works, maybe when you pay of card refund goes to balance and they can somehow withdraw it?

Might be some kind of timing thing where the chargeback gets credited before the payment is deducted?

Gotta love paypal.

Yes I think so too. Most likely seller would not experience any loss, but paypal was very interested in this and I had very long conversation..

I am now thinking of best possible way of detecting customers that are behind proxy. Artificial intelligence :) that would warn how quick decision to buy, time spent on site was made to final order for new registered customer.

Now testing maxmind anti fraud. Transactions were market as suspicious because us proxy and billing address has rather big distance.

Might be some kind of timing thing where the chargeback gets credited before the payment is deducted?

Gotta love paypal.
