BUT
for each product / the buyer can not choose - he is only presented with one choice
even after hitting select shipping method
read the manual and KB
help please / thanks
I am totally lost on the shipping setup
now, instead of having just ONE option for the buyer
I get an error message saying no locations set up
I read all I could - clearly = I am missing something
help ?
Hello.
Please check the location settings in your store. In the administration panel go to Administration > Shipping & Taxes > Locations. Click on the name of the desired location. Check whether the address selected in the Shipping section on the Checkout page in the storefront is included in the location.
Also, have you seen these particular articles in the KB?

General
Location is a combination of parameters to represent a geographical area to which your products can be shipped. They are used to calculate shipping rates and tax charges.
Have you checked the KB articles I suggested previously in this topic? Please make sure that the proper shipping charges are set for each desired location in your shipping methods.
Please provide us with screenshots of the shipping charges page. Also try to remove * from the Zip, Cities and Addresses fields. Just leave them empty

thanks
You are welcome. Please let us know if you have any other questions on the subject.
still soooooooooooo lost
can NOT be this complicated?
some progress
I disabled the ALL countries and Canada
and kept just USA
then cleared ALL sub locations
Now
when I try to buiy a product
I do NOT get the error message
yeah !
but
i would have expected the test buyer to have his option of preferred shipping ?
eg over nite or 2nd day or ground, etc
we only show one
even though have more than one option in settings
also
can not determine what is better Manual or Realtime
(ie do not know the difference)
Let me explain the difference.
- Table-based (or manual) calculation is based on the custom charges and rates that you define in the Shipping charges tab of such shipping method.
- Real-time calculation is based on the rates that your store receives from the carrier who will deliver the order. The rates are received in the real-time mode the moment the order is placed. In order to use the carrier-dependent estimation, you need to enable support of a particular service provider in Administration > Shipping and taxes > Shipping methods. Also, you should make sure that the proper carrier-specific settings are defined in the Configure tab of such shipping method.
Please make sure that you have a shipping method set up for each desired real-time shipping service (ex: UPS USA Ground, UPS USA 2nd Day Air, etc.) on the Administration > Shipping and taxes > Shipping methods page of your CS-Cart admin panel. You can find relevant instructions for various services here: CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation .
I hope this will help you.
well / / / the more I read - the less it works
o DID make SOME progress
I can only get ONE shipping choice at a time
and it MUST me manual
every time I choose realtime - I get error message
question ?
MUST the seller have an account at Fed Ex or UPS to enter into the config section to be able to use Realtime Option ?
here is sample from KB
but not all my edits have a config tab ?
but this time I DO have config tab (it this because realtime or manual ??)
