Need help with my site visit.

Hello,

I was with another shopping cart, about a year ago and switch to cscart. Before I use to get about 3000 visits per month, now that I switch to cscart, I only get about 150 per month.

Anyone know why that is?

Thank you

Tom

Have you done 301 redirects from your old site?

Wait, I did redirect my main store url only, here is the link

If you only redirected your main site to your new one and didn't redirect any of your categories or products, than of course you are going to have a serious dropoff in visitors. 301 redirects are very important to do if you change any URLs around.

Also, I'd imagine that after 1 year, it is probably too late.

Basically you are starting all over again from scratch. If you were able to build up your business before, I'm sure you can do it again.

Good luck.

When you switch carts all your url's changed as well (from “…com/” to “…com/store/”) resulting in a loss of what may have been good search engine rankings.

This may be the cause of the loss in traffic.

If you have site stats (such as google analytics) you should be able to see a drop in site referrers do to all the dead links cause by the url change.

Thanks to everyone for all your advice. Now I know and knowing is half the battle :D
