Need a Better "Search" Administration

Already my client is complaining about how the search is very limited. Not happy campers.



I followed the hack at [url]http://forum.cs-cart.com/showthread.php?t=2920&highlight=search[/url]



Inwhich the search will search the Meta Description and Keywords.



It would be nice to set up default quick search options like you can in advanced search.

I’ll pass that motion.



I would have preferred that by default it would be possible to search ISBN codes etc as most books are found online that way.

I don’t mean to bring up old topics… but i’m wondering the same thing. I would love to have better search administration. I’d like to pick what options the default “quick search” searches through and have better control over what areas users can search in.



Any idea if these features will be available soon?

Even if we could search by product code, i would have thought that would be a pretty obvious thing as you can search by product code on the customer side.

It seems like product code search has been requested repeatedly. Can anyone confirm that and what the CS-Cart had to say?

If I am not missing something… search by product code is available on customer side… in advanced search

We’ld be preferring the code be used in the “normal” search on the front page.



This saves multiple product code searches being in “advanced search” → Product → Search → Advanced Search → Product



Considering that a majority of my products are searched via the product code explictly it’s something I’m needing desperately

Try on http://www.smav tronics.com… search for example “SKU# SKN6238A” in the search box on the front page…
