Modifying field labels on the Register page

Greetings - This post refers to my post marked “urgent” late last week pertaining to personal information showing up as the field labels on the CS-Cart “Register” page, and the CS-Cart admin tool “Profile Details” page. Link to the post…

So I submitted a support ticket to CS-Cart about this and here was their response:

“It is not a known bug. We have never experienced such a problem. As these fields names could be edited via CS-Cart admin panel most probably somebody got the access to your admin panel. We can recommend you to change your admin credentials.”

My question: I did some checking on this… The Username, Password, and Confirm password field labels can be edited in the Language Variables area of the admin tool. But those fields were NOT the one’s that contained personal information.



However, the First name, Last name, Email address, Phone Number, City, Country, State, and Zip Vode fields all CANNOT be edited via the Language Variables area because they don’t appear as variables there - at least not that I see. And these were the field labels that DID contain personal information.



Is there a way to change the text of these other field labels in the admin tool that I am not aware of? I just want to be sure before I go back to CS-Cart and pursue this further with them. I don’t think their response to me is relevant…

Hi Mark, What I would probably do is check and or replace this folder with a fresh one: /skins/your_skin/customer/profiles_pages



This folder contains all of the related profile files.

Refreshing my custom skin again was one of the very first things I did, however, this is not really relevant to what I asked:



I just asked if ANYONE knows of a way in the Admin Tool to modify the First name, Last name, Email address, Phone Number, City, Country, State, and Zip Code fields of the Register page.



I have covered the Admin Tool from end to end I don’t see a way to do this, as CS-Cart support indicated (yes, I am following up with them on this as well - No reply back from them yet).



Can anyone else help out?

You can modify the field lables for the Register page by changing the description in Users->Profile fields.
