We are running a large database using cs-cart, over 250000 products. Most functions perform good but when someone clicks on search button with blank input , cs-cart by default lists all the products. This causes very high load on server. Is it possible to stop search being performed unless there are minimum 3 characters in input box for default cs-cart search?

No this feature has always been lacking in cs-cart.com. If you check amazon.com, with billions of products in their database and try to search for blank, you are redirected back to home page. I think cs-cart.com can also achieve that functionality also by making the default search input as a required field. I do not know why search field is not a required field!!!.
