Hello All,
This is my first post. I just installed the 60-day trial version of version 2.1 and chose to have the demo store (database and settings) installed as well. I wanted to get in and see firsthand how a properly set up store should look. Now I get it. I’d like to migrate from the demo store to our store, offering our products. I’ve edited the Categories and on my way towards making other edits as well. It is my understanding that this is a full-featured program and that I can “run with it” for 60 days. Question Group 1: What do I need to do (if anything) to properly migrate this store from the demo store to a working store for our products? Simply change the categories and products? Anything I’m missing? Or worse case, do I have to blow away the database and start from scratch? (I hope “no” is the answer to this last one.)
Question Group 2: How do I add PayPal as our one and only payment option? Is this an acceptable idea or is a terrible idea for some reason I don’t see? I see quite a few folks on here are fond of the QuickBooks payment gateway - I need to look into that it seems.
Thank you to any and all who respond nicely. For the record, our site is: http://www.SeashoreManor.com/index.php and I welcome any criticism or feedback as long as it’s constructive and reasonable.
I really do like what I’ve found in CS-Cart so far (one day and counting right now). Barring any unforeseen problems, we certainly hope to migrate to the paid version before the trila ends. CS-Cart seems to be exactly what we’ve been looking for!

You can continue making all of your needed changes to the categories, products, company specific details, etc. Then when you purchase CS-Cart, you will receive a license key which you will simply enter into the Settings: Upgrade Center area of your admin panel which will activate your store. You will not have to create a new database!

There is no reason you cannot use only Paypal as your payment processor. However, mostly depending upon the number of orders you receive (or intend to), you will most likely want to look at a more professional method of accepting payments such as PayPal Pro, or Quickbooks Merchant Services as you mentioned, or Authorize.net.
And yep, CS-Cart is unbeatable for the money you will invest in it, welcome aboard!
