Memory usage too high?

Hey there…

today I was playing with the addons and tried the configurator to set up a set of items. When I enabled it, I set a few steps, etc, and then the whole site stopped working giving me the (known) fatal error:

Mmaximum allowed memory… 268123458 (!!)

Isn't this too high?? Disabling the plugin leaves the site working, however I am certain it takes up memory from other applications running on the server. Why is this so high? Can it be that I have the rebuild cache set to on?

Clear cache seems not to have any affect on this, but I can't be sure. What can I do in this occasion?

ANYONE? Devs? Is 256mb of ram consumption normal?

All depends on what's happening on your site. Normally, 256MB should support most anything. And generally, high memory usage happens during import/export when lots of data needs to be held in memory to writing to files and/or outputing to another application.

So, how can I check what's wrong? I need to have a few add-ons enabled and can't because of this error!

edit: Are there any ways I can reduce it's memory usage?

Clear cache?

Settings?

Anything?

Guess I would enable one at a time and find which one breaks things. Something is wrong and so the source of the problem is probably independent of other things.

Well, I found the add-on that causes the problem. It's the configurator; I set it up, worked for about 10 mins and then I get the error. Disabling it fixes everything… but I need the add-on.

What now?

It's strange that noone encountered the same problem. Does everyone use servers that provide more than 256ram for their application or they haven't used the configurator?

Where are the devs? Why did I pay all this money? The least I am expecting is SOME support.

Since the author of that addon is cs-cart, you need to

  1. submit a bugtracker item
  2. if you want it fixed, open a support ticket with helpdesk.

Since it's a bug, there should not be any charge of support credits.

You are on a “community” forum. If you want help from cs-cart themselves, you need to submit a ticket through the helpdesk.
