Martfox Warning!

Hello All,

I just found a Warning about Martfox.com:
WARNING: The IP PTR associated with this record, does not resolve back to it’s original IP address. This is very bad practice.

Original: 89.238.174.27

PTR: csc1.martfox.com.

PTR IP: 89.238.174.6

What do the warning messages mean?
This message indicates that a IP addresses PTR (Pointer record) does not itself, resolve to an IP address. This is shown as a warning specifically because a PTR should resolve to an IP address itself, as per the RFC standards.
You can ignore this warning as it makes no sense. The PTR is correct.

89.238.174.27 is the dedicated IP for martfox.com, the PTR for csc1.martfox.com is set to 89.238.174.6 which is the main server IP.

Can we ignore bad practice?

Or can not?

It usually happens with virtual hosting. Not that big of a deal, but your emails will be considered spam by some ISPs.

Against what?

Can’t you girls just get along?

I agree! Don’t you guys have anything better else to do with your time? I appreciate Lili Pop trying to keep people safe in the forum, but I don’t think that Indy is intentionally trying to mislead anyone. If so, then she wouldn’t post so many helpful post. Both of you are an asset to the CS community and I wish that you would make amends and put more time into posting helpful articles rather than trying to destroy one another. Both your non hair pulling, cat scratching posts are always worth reading and I appreciate this from you both.

Both your points have been well made and driven home over and over again. We understand both sides of the situation very well. Lets move forward please as I’m tired of seeing posts such as these. Take it to PM if you must but not here.

I’m no angel but damn it’s like babysitting. Happy Holidays and I value you both!

Love peace and chicken grease:p

Lol, yeah, I still have a few knuckle marks on the side of my head from back in the day, my dad had a lot of tolerance up until the point of which the car came to a screaching hault!

And that’s the point you realize that sitting behind your Dad is the best seat in the car! This way your Brother is the first person in his line of site when he is wildly swinging his free hand…ha,ha…good times! The good ole days.
