Making Container Responsive

My logo container doesn't appear to responsive. When the page is reduced the logo gets squashed, happens on mobile as well.

The div is .top-logo

I wrote this

div.top-logo {
width: 100%;
padding: 10px;
border: 5px solid gray;
margin: 0;
}

This just crashed my site :D
