Anyone seen or heard of a plugin /addon that will change the top menu dropdown for a magento like dropdown with images etc in it…

your right i seen it right after… it's not as nice as the example but it's a start…
You can just about do anything with CS-Cart and some CSS…it might not look how you want it, but there's nothing stopping you changing the CSS to suit your design needs. It would definitely be a good start, otherwise you could have a go at developing it yourself or request a quote from one of the many developers on this forum.
