local or global options for overall speed

HI



I am currently setting up my copy of cs cart. its for an equestrian(horse tack) business and has around 100 categories in total across 3 levels.



i will be adding around 5-10k products and a lot will have options e.g colour, size



does anyone know if it would help query wise if i used local options for each product rather than the global options - i was thinking it might make the queries smaller

Thank you for your message.



There are no significant differences in using global or local product options in the matter of performance in your case. Local product options should work a little faster than global options, because the structure of SQL queries will be quite different in this case. So you can choose a more convenient way to use product options.
