Edit “Welcome to CS-Cart demo store” html block

I don’t even understand what it is to be used for… what is the purpose of “Live Mode”?

Live mode helps with the internal Caching I think.

John

Since this question isn’t being answered where I posted it, here it is…

I just switched to version 2.1.4 Professional and I’m having to redo the product configurator. and I’m lost…

All the previous terms for things are changed! How do I this? Whats the new term for configurator? And where do I navigate to to do this?

Live mode has nothing to do with the Welcom Message.

There are 3 modes the store can be in.

Live Mode - full caching on, changes to templates or added hooks probably require a cache-flush to be seen.

Development Mode - I’m a little less clear here since I haven’t looked too deeply. But I believe that page caching is turned off for this mode. This allows you to do development and view your results without having to constantly flush the cache (pages and data).

Customization Mode - Enables icons that allow you to see the templates being called (even hooks) and what area of the page they affect. This is associated with the session of the admin who enabled the mode only. It does not affect the customer view of the store for other than the admin.

bjm - What does the configurator have to do with “live mode issue”?

So then what should your site say at the bottom when you want your site to be “live”? I’m really not for sure what is correct. I’ve shot a video (from CS demo cart) of what it says when you change from “live” to “development” mode and then back but it still just isn’t making since. So what should your site say at the bottom to have the default “cache” enabled?

Here is the video…

So in my mind I it should say “Live Mode” at the bottom. Is that correct? The problem is when you change it to say “Live Mode” the site says, “Notice, the store operates in the development mode.” This is what makes it confusing.

If you are in Live Mode, then the link will say Development mode. If you’re in Development Mode then the link will say Live mode.

Be a lot easier if they were radio buttons…

Guess I just found one thing that may have made my site run a little slower. Live and learn.
