The add-on limits the number of categories that can be assigned to a single product. As soon as more categories than allowed are selected in the product details, the extra ones are deselected and a warning with the current limit appears on the screen.
This keeps the catalog tidy: a product does not spread across dozens of sections, the catalog structure stays predictable, and menus and filters stay clean. It is especially useful when several people fill in the catalog, or when products are added by marketplace vendors.
- A single setting — the maximum number of categories per product, 5 by default.
- The check runs when a product details page is opened and every time the set of selected categories changes.
- Setting the value to 0 lifts the limit without disabling the add-on.
- The add-on works in the administration panel and displays nothing on the storefront.
