We have a total of 9 categories of products. Every month I need to produce a report that gives me:
Total Orders - I need a total dollar amount for orders for the month for all products combined
Category Orders - I need a total dollar amount for the month for each category
To produce the first I select View Orders and in the top Search box I select all options for the statuses.
To get total Categories sales reports I go to Sales Reports, select my report period date, click update, then click Categories Sales tab.
But the if I add the totals for all the Categories sales the dollar amount is never the same as the dollar amount for the same time period I get in my View Orders report. In fact, I can change the dates to request a report over a 24 hour period or a one week period and never do I get the same amount in View Orders as I do in Sales Reports.
How can I get an accurate report for the two separate reports I need?
Why are the reports I am producing giving me conflicting totals?
Thanks for any help. This has been a frustrating issue.
Bumping this up for a reply. It’s an ongoing issue.
Cynthia,
Unfortunately you are 100% correct. The dollar amounts will never match up , because the order reports are wrong.
The problem is this:
The sales in the order reports will be incremented even if 1) the orders fails 2) the order is refunded 3) the order is declined 4) duplicate orders 5) the customer cancels.
For some reason, CS-cart simply does not minus it when the order is not complete.
It should only add to the product sales total when an order is ‘complete’, but it doesn’t work this way.
I have one particular product that the fraud guys LOVE so I have to keep declining orders, and it is showing sales of £6,000 this month when it has only sold once (its a £300 product)
Please let me know if you also consider this to be the problem -
Also, I’m on 1.3.4 sp3 so maybe this is fixed in 1.3.5 ?
Can anyone let me know before I waste my day trying to fix this
thanks
OK, maybe that isnt your problem and I was being stupid.
I only just found the option for setting table conditions to “Despatched only”, I have only just found this after over a year with cs-cart
The order reports are now 100% accurate as far as I can see

I would have to agree that this is a problem. If an order is not marked as a successful order, then it should NOT be included in the reports or in the total sales.
The bigger problem is trying to get the folks at CS to understand this. I have tried and tried to explain but they really do not understand the logic.
Report it as a bug in the Bug Tracker. Other members can chime in with their thoughts which might convince the developers that a change is needed.
