Issues With Cs Cart

We are importing products with CSV files using the Administration->Import page for multiple vendors. Currently the process is:

Step 1) Select the vendor from the top-left menu.

Step 2) Enter the vendor’s Administration->Import page.

Step 3) Select CSV file with the Product code, Language and

Vendor fields. Import the file.
We are using only one language. And every vendor is created separately and has unique name from the Manage Vendors page. For every vendor his products have unique Product code. This way every product in the system has a unique key using the fields Vendor & Product code. And we are using these two fields to keep track of the products and update them.

We are are not using Product id in the imported CSV files and we are leaving the system to assign it automatically on import. As such it is invisible to us and we can’t use it when importing additional info as Product Combinations and Additional Pictures. We want to add this information as steps 4 & 5 in our process, but we are unable due to the following issues:

Issue #1: Importing Product Combinations

The required fields for importing product combinations are Product ID, Language and Combination.

Language used is only one - this is fine

Combination is the Product code - this is fine

Product ID is unknown to us as it is assigned after the products have been imported. We are not keeping track of it as we are using the combination of Product code & Vendor as a unique key for the products in the system.

For consistency of our system we would like to be able to use Combination (Product code) & Vendor to import product combinations. The same way we use them when we import the products. Instead of the current Product ID & Combination (Product code).

Issue #2: Importing Additional Pictures

The required fields for importing additional pictures are Product code and Pair type.

Both fields are fine, but after the import finished we ended up with images assigned to products from different vendors. In fact the images were assigned to the first product with the specified Product code entered in the system and not the product with this Product code with the vendor we have selected in Step 1.

Again for consistency of our system we would like to be able to use Combination (Product code) & Vendor to import additional pictures. Or the system should recognize the selected Vendor (in Step 1).

To summarize: Just as Vendor is optional when importing products after a vendor has been selected, so should the Product code be sufficient to import product combinations and additional pictures.

After these to issues we have an additional question as we don’t want to test and couldn’t find detailed information on the manual.

Delete all existing product files before import

Question #1: When importing products does enabling the Delete all existing product files before import option remove all products or only the products from the selected vendor (Step 1)?

Question #2: What happens with completed and ongoing orders when importing products with this option enabled?

We have several vendors that don’t track neither status nor quantity of their products. As such we can’t keep track of discontinued or out of stock products and disable them in during update. Ideally we would like the option to disable instead of remove all products before import.

Have you some Ideas?

Has someone such Problems, that is for all Multivendor websites.
