Is Semi-Dedicated good

Hello,

is Semi-Dedicated better to have then share hosting?

I need a hosting plan that allow me to get, let say about 2000 to 3000 visits on my website per month, with 2000 products on my website.

Thank you

Tom

I was look at EDB hosting Semi-Dedicated, but it said Max CPU usage 20%, how fast will that take me to reach that?

i was on a semi dedicated on edb hosting and it was just fine whit the 800mb ram you get and 20% of the CPU lockd to you.

but i upgradet to a VPS at EDB Hosting becurs i nedet to host 6 websites. i host 6 sites on the small VPS 1 cs-cart and some difrent php and html site.

There is no straight forward clear cut answer, it is all about the specific details included with each of the plans you are comparing. For example, we were running our CS-Cart store on a mid-range VPS plan for over a year with very good results, however, over the last few months we have “downgraded” to a very high end, fully managed “Shared Hosting” account (and this is not a $5.00/Month whosyourGodaddy bubblegum plan) with results that would knock your socks off, so everything is relative!

Also, this Shared Hosting account we are running on is considerably more expensive than the majority of VPS plans available, so again, everything is relative to what you want & need.

The Max CPU usage 20% I'm not sure of and Max MySQL querries per hour. How fast will I reach that?

EDB hosting hasn't been arround long, only a few months right?

well how many users du you expect per h. ?

the limit off 250 000 is set a bit higher then ouer competition for the price. if your store grows and the limit off 250 000 is not enough then you can upgrade from the control panel to a difrent solution.

ps. the site will be down for maintenance later to day

If you order true me i can even give you a discount on the hosting solution. send me a pm and we will take it from there.

I'll think about it.

Thank you

Well, according to edb-hostings website they're using pretty old hardware. Core 2 Quad, 8 GB RAM, and 900 GB SATA drives. This is the only specs I'm able to find on their website regarding servers.

And why do they use the exact same info about the data center as these other two web hosts using the same IP?

http://www.066i.com/data-center.html

http://rscwebhosting…ata-center.html

And why do they all use the same phone numbers for support? (Which seem to be the support phone of Attractsoft and resellercluster.)

If I should make a guess it would that they're all resellers of http://www.attractsoft.com/ and their service http://www.resellercluster.com/.

And at last: Why would they even need to use ads from tradedoubler.com on their website? Is the economy really this bad? Think about this: If you had your own digital store. Would you use ads from tradedoubler?

But back to your question. I don't believe you would need semi-dedicated hosting as 2-3000 visits a month isn't really that much, and a decent shared server should be able to fulfill your requirements.

I do have pretty good experience with http://www.hawkhost.com. They're not too cheap, but they do have pretty solid reputation. They also have servers in both Europe and the US.
Hey,

Thanks, but have you heard about www.eleven2.com?

The reviews on webhostingtalk.com are usually pretty good for eleven2.com, but I'm usually a bit “distrusting” of hosts offering a lot storage and bandwidth for prices that low.

Check out http://www.webhostingtalk.com for reviews and offers.
