Read the knowledgebase, otherwise known as ‘RTFM’ by a select few forum members

If you are receiving a ‘mod_rewrite’ notification you will have to contact your hosting provider to have it turned on.

Thanks for the reply

But still I have this message SEO-friendly URLs are disabled. Check your web server and URL manipulation engine settings

I asked my host if the module Mod_rewrite has been enabled in the server and he just replied to say yes:

[COLOR=“Blue”]Dear Sir

Mod_rewrite has been already enabled in the server. Please see the details below.

What should I do now please?

i had the same problem long ago. what i had to do was uninstall the addon and then install it again. (easily done in 2 clicks). That worked for me after bashing my head on a wall for a month trying to figure out the problem.

thank you mrfoameruk, it works

the new problem now is that all the links of my website are broken.

How can I fix that?

thanks

Clear the cache (delete all files in /var/cache/ folder and all folders inside of the /var/compiled/ folder).

Thanks I did what you said, but it is still the same I have got this on every link

It does the same also on products and categories I created after I enabled the seo add-on.

Are you running site on localhost?

no in a a directory.

as I don’t want my index.html to be copied over, I use actinic now, and I try cs-cart to see if I will make the switch.

Read #4 about installing CS-Cart in a dir:

ok thanks a lot

I put the directory where is my sore in the htaccess file so the links where are the products now works fine

i installed everything again and it all looks fine now
