Is it ok for the Support team to have access to my Admin Panel?what do you think?

As you all know I have exhausted my efforts and some of this forums help to solve some problems with CS-Cart etc…Is it ok for the Support team to have access to my Admin Panel?? I have all my orders completed with no CC info etc… just their e-mails etc…what do you think??

thnx Chris

Yes

Why do they need access? You can create admin login with minimum rights…

That's exactly the problem that at least on CSC v2.2.4 you actually cannot create admin logins with restricted areas. I will be completely blessed if someone in this forum help me exactly with that problem.

I describe it here…

What I want and need is that it exist just one (and only 1) administrator. In this case, me. I created a user group called Manager, which is the group that has almost all the privileges activated. Of course, not all of them, because I need to take care of the structure and several things that I need to handle myself such as skin change, database and so on. I am using CS-Cart v2.2.4. What I want is to create a “administrator” that work under the group called Manager. But here's the problem:

  • If I create an Administrator User, it will have all the privileges as me. And I don't want that.
  • If I select the option to create a User, the first thing that the system will ask me is that I have to decide if it will be:

    Administrator, Customer, or Supplier.

If I select Administrator, I will be in the same situation, if I select Customer, the Customer cannot access the Admin Panel and create products, categories or handle the system. In short, a customer is not allowed to access the Admin Panel. And for the Supplier, I don't need the supplier yet, and I don't know how it works. Would you be so kind, or anyone here that read this, tell me how can I do it? I repeat: What I want is to create is some special “Administrator” kind of user that be called “Manager” with limited privileges in the Admin area.

I don't think that I have to pay in order to get the solution to this.

You can create another administrator group, call it manager and choose it’s privileges at Customers - user groups.

All done! :D

Flow is correct, but the biggest thing that I learned about the permissions thing is that you have to be logged in as the root administrator to be able to set things up. If you aren't logged in as the root admin, you won't see the options to do this.

To know what your root admin is, just look at your phpmyadmin under users. The one with an id of 1 is your root.

Once you figure that out, you can follow the directions in the knowledgebase and should be able to set this up fairly easily.

Thanks,

Brandon

Hi, guys…

Dear Flow, I did exactly what you said. I also raised a ticket in the CS-Cart support and they send me this link,

CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation But before they say that to me, I have already done it by myself, and IT DOESN'T WORK.

The user was created okay, but it has ALL THE PRIVILEGES again. I need it to be just the one selected for the Manager group. You can see an screen shot of the privileges that I set up for this user in this link… https://www.happyshoesonline.com/ref/Privileges_of_Admin_User_called_Manager.jpg

Please, can somebody help me?

Hi

I managed to get this to work but had problems. I had to create the new group before the admin user to go in it otherwise the group would not appear.
