Interspire Shopping Cart 6 vs CS-Cart 2.1x

hello,

I have seen lots of reviews and suggestions in this forum, but I am not sure if any of you compare the new Interspire v6 with CS-Cart 2.1x

I would appreciate any one who comment on that, in regards to how god Interspire v6 is.

I recently took a look at interspire and aldo it is full of options, and you can do almost everything from the admin end, it’s also very very expensive when comparing to cs cart (from 998$ to almost 2000$).

And also they are missing a lot of addons and certain payment gateways that cs cart has and that are vital to me.

For me, I don’t think it’s worth it, but then again, I’m too lazy to create all from scrach, import products, clients, orders, etc. etc (already tired from thinking about it  )…

The only way I would think about it is if it was 100% bug free.

When I switched to CS-Cart one year ago I looked at a lot of shopping cart solutions. I am happy that I found CS-Cart.

I spent a lot of time looking at Interspire. What I would like to see is for CS-Cart to take small business web marketing seriously and add some features that will let us shop owners market our sites on the web through feeds, email integration, mobile commerce, ebay and amazon, and finally social media.

I will keep encouraging them to look at adding these features.

Thanks,

Adam

Tried both and CS-cart won. More options, multi language, much more suitable for Europe (PSP’s!) and much more value for money.

Interspire has some very good marketing tricks though… look, learn and implement in CS-cart I’d say!!

I have over 2000.00 in my CS-Cart software… Yes CS-Cart starts cheap, but all the upgrades and bug fixes gets expensive… (not saying Interspire wouldn’t have the same issues). I would try both and the cart you adapt to easier/faster go with it.

What bug fixes did you have to pay for? I’ve never had to use cs-cart development team to fix any issues with their cart

Upgrade costs = $49.50 / year - $89.50 / year https://www.cs-cart.com/upgrade-policy.html

Bug fixies costs = $00.00 forever

I should have worded it better I suppose. During upgrades SEO links changed once, and a couple of settings had to be fixed by a 3rd party devoloper because I couldn’t get straight and quick answers from the help desk… regardless it cost money to maintain the site if you can’t do everything yourself. I really like CS-Cart, but it cost money to keep it running trouble free.

Be very careful of Interspire, it’s basically just the self hosted version of BigCommerce. I had used BC for 5 months and gave up. Just didn’t feel I could rely on them.

If you look at either set of forums you will find a lot of issues. Some of these effect BC more than Interspire but it well suffer from the same bugs and broken features as BC.

Interspire is also way more expensive than CS Cart and has less features. Interspire/BC have concentrated on the flashy features at the expense of the core functions. Upgrades have been very buggy and support is shocking. You wait days to get an answer.

Don’t be sucked in by the flash, CS Cart offers you much more flexibility and core features for much less money than Interspire and it is a much better company to deal with.

If you are interested in Interspire then try the free trial of BC first. Just make sure any features you like are in Interspire and test every feature you are going use actually works correctly. If it doesn’t, then don’t believe any promises that it is being worked on or coming soon as they don’t always materialise.
