Install Loop--Can't get past the first page of wizard!! Help!!

I have followed all the instructions carefully. Downloaded the ZIP file, unpacked it and uploaded all files to the server. Changed permissions of the files mentioned. Created a MySQL database. Now, when I go to:

http://www.mysite.com/install/

I get the first page of the wizard. I check the box to accept the license agreement and click “Next.” The page refreshes (i.e. does NOT go to the next step), the check box becomes unchecked, and no matter what I do, I can’t get past this first step.

Anyone been there done that and found the problem?

config.local.php has the 666 permissions.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for that helpful reply, a309720557, but I somehow suspect you are a bot.

Did you try to re upload the files. Sometimes either the zip is corrupted (specially with IE) or the FTP program may have missed a few files.

That would be the first thing I would do. Than go from there and see if the host supports all the requirements. Hard to know without errors.

P.S. Try a different browser also

I tried uploading files that seemed necessary to the install.

The host does support all the requirements. I have another CS-Cart install on the same VPS that is working just fine.

Tried several browsers.

Since I built a test site on my local computer, I’m going to try bypassing the wizard by exporting/importing the database, modifying the config file as necessary, and then uploading all the files. Hopefully that will work.

Thanks for the help.

Bypassing the wizard worked.

I also think that I found the problem: my user account had the same password as the root password for the entire VPS. I think this could have blocked the install wizard.
