Import products & reward points

I set the reward points options site wide. I allow purchase via reward points but when importing via csv these don’t show for the imported products. Why is that ?

Honestly on verge of giving up on cs-cart and going back to creloaded. The may be some nice features but everyone seems come complete with a bloody nightmare. It’s taking months and months to setup. Rant over

Hello Kickoff3pm,

Unfortunately, reward points cannot be imported to the standard CS-Cart installation by default. Some code modifications are required to implement this feature. You can do it by yourself or with the help of your custom developer. Also we can offer you our custom development service. You can contact our custom development team via Customer Help Desk: http://helpdesk.cs-cart.com

I have the pro version, I am not asking for reward points to be changed on bulk upload I know I can do that.

I’m asking that global options when set mean just that, both to current products and future products added. Thats true for adding products one at a time but not for bulk uploaded products. It defaults against the global option.

I think if the is a choice between “On” and “Off” as options and I set that global option as “On” meaning all products use “On” unless I choose to tick the " ignore global option" for a product and set that single product to “Off”.

As it is now if the option is NOT set at all it is “Off” so although I want all my products to show “the price in points” - unless I state that in the csv file it won’t apply for these products added using that file.

This is just one issue for bulk uploading, another is the fact you can’t set an image final path for a product. The import takes the path given and adjusts it. This mean before you add products you have to have the image in the place you put in the csv file.

Hello Kickoff3pm,

Thank you for the reply.

As far as I understand, you set up global options and apply them to all products by default, but when you upload new products, these options are not set for the uploaded products. It seems that the problem occurred because options were not set for the products in the CSV file or the format of the imported products was incorrect. For more information about how to set the correct imported fields format, please refer to this article in our Knowledge Base: [url]CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation .

As regards the issue with images, you cannot upload images for necessary products without specifying paths to these images when using the import option.

Thanks again for telling me what I already know

You need to understand what GOBAL means guys and it needs fixing.

in cs-cart it only means; “the next single product you add to the system using add product button”

in cs-cart It does not mean; “all your products” “all the products you add”

If you plan to stock more then a 100 or so items in your store these “gobal options” are at best annoying if you assume they are gobal. Global options should only be set once. Thats the idea, it cuts down on the work. If I had not set the global option I would not run into the problem so at the moment it makes work.

I will have to either spend time adding these options to the exported csv files and then upload again or run an sql statement to set them all.

Thank you for the reply, Kickoff3pm.

As far as we understand, you want to apply global options to the uploaded products automatically without additional adding of option fields to the CSV file. Unfortunately, there is no way to configure the default CS-Cart store to work in this way.
