Implementing Tax

Hi,

We’re currently setting up our first CS Cart for a client of ours, and are planning on using CS Cart for all of our clients.

We are based in Australia, and all of our customers are Australian businesses. Due to the tax rules of Australia, GST (our tax) must be displayed on the prices.

The website is http://www.sweatntears.com.au/index.php

I have gone through and setup a GST tax rate, applied to Australia for 10%.

I’ve enabled the following two options:

Display prices with taxes on category/product pages if the method of calculating taxes is based on a unit’s price

Display prices with taxes on cart/checkout pages if the method of calculating taxes is based on a unit’s price

In my GST tax rate, i have made sure that the “Price includes tax” is not ticked.

The product “Test” has tax enabled on it via the product page in the admin area.

When you view this product on the website, the price displays as the following:

Price: $9.00

($9.90 inc tax)

Is there a way to have it automatically display as

Price: $9.90

The reason for this is that on the catalog pages, etc, the prices all display as $9.00. This is incorrect, as the price that they will be charged is $9.90.

Can anyone help? I’m hoping there is something that I have skipped over or not done properly.

Hello magicdust,

As a possible solution you can enable the “Price includes tax” check box for the tax and specify prices for products with the tax included.

Hi Pavel,

I’ve ticked the “Price includes tax” box, but the prices do not show as including tax. They simply show as:

Price: $9.00

($9.90 inc tax)

On the category page, it only shows the price as $9.00

Is there a way for the price to just show including tax, not showing the ($9.90 inc tax) below.

In order to implement this feature, disable the “Display prices with taxes on category/product pages if the method of calculating taxes is based on a unit’s price” and the

“Display prices with taxes on cart/checkout pages if the method of calculating taxes is based on a unit’s price” check boxes on the “Appearance settings” page in the administration panel of your store (Administration panel → Design → Appearance settings)

The tax issue appears everytime in different post, why? It´s easy, because the requirements from the Shop Admins are higher than Cs-cart offers. I think the tax system (or the appearance of the tax) must get more flexible.

Hello Triplex,

Could you explain in more details how you want to see the appearance of taxes and clarify why this appearance is not usable for you?

But this then turns off all tax from displaying??

What i want is so that on the product and category pages, the prices display WITH tax included.

Currently, the category pages do not show the prices with tax, and the product page displays the product price as this:

Price: $9.00

($9.90 inc tax)

I want it to show just as this:

Price: $9.90

Thank you for the reply, Magicdust.

In this case, you need to enable the “Price includes tax” check box for the necessary tax on the “Taxes” page in the administration panel of your store and then apply the selected taxes for the necessary products. For more information, please refer to this article in our Knowledge Base: CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation . After that you should disable the "Display prices with taxes on category/product pages if the method of calculating taxes is based on a unit’s price " check box on the “Appearance settings” page in the administration panel of your store.

Hello,

since two days I am trying to get the prices shown including tax and I still can't figure out why it doesn't work. I followed various instructions step-by-step but it just does not work. Anastasiya's instruction sounds reasonable to me but not even that works. I actually found an addon for CS-Cart which shows prices including tax – it seems to me like it's not possible to get it to work in a “normal” way. I mean I already configured and used CS-Cart one year ago and I never had a problem like this.

The weird thing is that I entered the value 500 as price under “editing product” but in the shop it shows 390,63. I'm asking me why? I really don't understand the calculation. The tax I entered is 19%. Furthermore the price or anyhting else does not change after changing various adjustments regarding taxes like “unit price / subtotal”.

I really don't know what's going on. It's the first time since using CS-Cart that I have such a problem. Are there any known problems with the 4th version?

I would really apreciate if someone could help me to solve this problem!

Best Regards,

Dzan
