Image protection

Hello Sharon,

Thank you for your message.

I am glad to hear that you are interested in our CS-Cart software. I will be glad to answer your questions.

Does anyone know if cs-cart offers right click protect on an image and its additional images?
Yes, you can implement it using the following instructions from our Knowledge article:
Is the picture box able to be a size more similar to a portrait photo and have the text to the right moved over and no gap?
I suggest that you should better contact us via Customer Help Desk (or use the contact form on our website if you do not have a Help Desk account yet) and describe your request in more detail. Any screenshots will be appreciated. We will see what we can do for you regarding this matter by our technical support service or custom development service.
Does the cart have small thumbnails next to the product at checkout?
CS-Cart does not have such an ability by default. However our technical support engineer can implement this modification for you via our technical support service. So you can be sure that you will have this feature.
Is there a hover for magnification instead of a popout (not sure of terminology)
Unfortunately, some PHP code changes are required to be made to implement this feature. You can make them yourself (if you know PHP) or hire a third-party developer (here you can find a lot of offers from CS-Cart developers or consider our custom development service).

I want to be able to sort the papers into the design and colour, so that customers do not need to keep searching each item separately without my having to add them manually to categories. For example a paper which is called Bloom Baby Pink Pearlescent… I would like to be able to fine tune my search for all pearlescent papers in the Bloom category. I have a “search by colour” choice now using VM and will implement something like this on the new site, but I wonder if there is something that does it all for me by searching the product name or descriptions.

In this case you may consider using the product features functionality and product filters. Product filters will help your customers to search for products by their specific features. You can see the example of how it works on our demo site (see the Product Filters block on the left):

I hope I have managed to answer your question. If you need some further clarifications or have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you.

Pavel thanks for your quick reply.

thanks,

Sharon

Yes, as I mentioned before you should consider using the product features functionality and product filters. More information on how to create product features and product filters you can find in our Knowledge base:

CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation

You can see the example of how it works on our demo site (see the Product Filters block on the left):
1. With the uploading of the demo to our new site when it is ready, how does it work once we are happy with purchasing? Will the demo become the full version once payment has been made?
I assume that you are talking about the trial CS-Cart installation. This kind of installation has no functionality limitations. So all you need after purchasing a CS-Cart license is to enter your license number into the administration panel of your store (go to Settings > Upgrade Center) to have the ability to upgrade your store.

2. The site I was working on before it became corrupted, uses VM. Is there an import function or another way to bring all the photos and text into the new site once cs-cart is installed in the demo mode or the fully paid mode?
Yes, there is. In order to achieve this you should use instructions from the following Knowledge base articles:

CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation

http://kb.cs-cart.co…d-fields-format
Is this something I can add after the site is completed or better to decide on before?
You are free to choose at which stage of setting up your store you will consider this modification. You just need to decide when it will be more convenient to you.
1. We wish to not allow customers to reset their passwords for security reasons. Is it possible to preregister customers in the backend and set up a link to email us a request for a password reset? It will protect us from those customers who hand their passwords to competition and then reset them.
Yes, we can implement it for you within our technical support service. Our technical support engineers will be glad to provide you with appropriate instructions regarding this matter.
2. We only offer proforma payments. Is there an option to add this to the checkout? We require customers to select a) direct deposit, B) credit card at checkout and would like them to provide the card details at checkout so that we do not need to phone them as we currently do. We generate the invoice and email directly to them currently.
In this case you may consider using offline payment methods. The detailed instructions on how to set up an offline payment method you can find in our Knowledge base article:

http://kb.cs-cart.co…it-card-offline
3. If the cart offers invoicing, is it customisable and can our logo be also added?
Yes, after placing an order both you and your customer can print an invoice in the HTML or PDF formats. In order to customize the layout of an invoice, you will need to edit a template file. Our technical support engineers will be glad to assist you in this matter. As regards the invoice logo, you can change it on the Design > Logos page of your CS-Cart admin panel.
4. I saw that you are changing your packages and wondering if I should wait till we purchase, or upload the demo once it is available. I just do not want to lose my 12 months of updates if we purchase too soon.
I suggest that you use the contact form on our website and ask this question there. Our specialists will be glad to provide you a detailed answer regarding this matter.
5. How much are updates after the first 12 months?
It depends on the CS-Cart edition you will choose to purchase. The prices for upgrade plans subscriptions you can find on our website:

http://www.cs-cart.c…ade-policy.html

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
