When I edit an image and upload it to the server, overwriting the image of the same name, the old image is still coming up whether it is through refresh, re-uploading it within the product itself, or even choosing it from the server side. The only way I have found to fix it is to rename the image and reference it. I have hundreds of images though, and this method will take too much time.

What version are you using, I think this was fixed in the 2.2.1 release

Try uploading images 10 per session. Even I had the same issue and it worked.
It looks like the update worked for me… alleviating a lot of frustration.
