How to Install/Editt Meta Discription & Keywords

Hi,

I have got 3.0.2 and I don,t know where to input Meta Discription and Keywords for my site.

Site address: www.tacklebay.com.au

This site specialises in Fishing tackle etc. so I want to place keywords and discription in for SEO's

Tried looking through the forum and found a quite a few questions with-out answers.

Is it possible to place in my own Meta Discription and Keywords and how would I go about doing this?

This is starting to get a bit frustrating, hopefully someone can help.

Thanks.

You can add meta description and keywords on when adding new products or editing products page under Admin dashboard. Here is the screenshot below

Note, google was now ignoring meta keywords so you don't need to place anything on meta keywords…only the Title and Description is useful for SEO.

meta description and keywords for home page can be edited in design>blocks>homepage block

when you select homepage you will see a small cog appear at the side of the text “homepage” click the cog and edit away.

This is the same for all other pages, default etc.

Found it,

Thank you for your quick responses.

It is much appreciated and very useful.

Thanks again,

Wayne

Never use homepage cog to setup meta description and keywords. It's very bad practice for SEO because you'll get all pages duplicated on meta descriptions at least in Google. You'd better follow Miracles' advices to set distinct meta descriptions for each page.

This is true but I think only if you dont add any meta info in the other pages, CS uses the default instead. Make sure you add meta info to all pages and is good. I can see how this could affect users with very similar or small product names though.

There was a post somehwere a while back to stop CS auto filling but where ???

I personally like the auto filling function for meta descriptions. You don't need to fill in manually which will spend you lots of time if you have thousands of products or more. You simply just need to write the full description for each item. But you need to remember to put the most important keywords in the first 60 (default truncated words) words of the description.

Do you mean the default page verses homepage? That would make sense.
